Data Center
As part of its Data Center services provided since 1998, Koç.net continues to host customers' systems as well as its own at its offices in Istanbul and Ankara with a total net space of 550m2 today.
When it was established in 1998, our Data Center had an office space of 150 m2 in Istanbul, which was expanded in 2002 with an additional 100 m2 in Ankara, and further 300 m2 in Istanbul, reaching a total area of 550 m2 in 2009.
Its fiber-optic infrastructure from 4 different operators and 8 different routes add to make it one of the leading data centers with the most backup and highest capacity in Turkey's communications with the world.
The main entrance to the center and system rooms is protected by biometric access security systems. This system allows access only to those persons recognized by means of iris sampling, and archives these access records. And the external security of the center is provided by a private security agency around the clock, which is also monitored and archived by a CCTV system. In addition, magnetic security cards are used for access to the business center and offices, logs are kept, and reported. Offices and Data Center are also recorded by IP cameras round the clock, and archived.
Access to Data Center is prohibited, except by authorized staff, and technical staff are allowed KVM-over-IP (Keyboard-Video-Monitor) access from their computer. System rooms are never used for opening equipment packages or their physical installation, which are carried out at the office, warehouse or laboratory. Test equipment is kept at Koç.net laboratory and installations are also performed there.
Data Center is enclosed with heat and sound insulation wall. External wall surface is water insulated. The Center has a damp-proof floor. The entire floor at the Center has two elevations which have epoxy-coating underneath and which are used for cabling and ventilation. The exterior walls of the Center have been enclosed with a grounded metal frame system so that the Center is shielded against electromagnetic pollution.
The infrastructure of the Data Center has been all designed and installed by industry-leading companies, and maintenance and support services are provided according to annual maintenance agreements with respective companies. They are assessed annually on the basis of service quality.
The hardware at the Data Center is under the control of technical teams from Koç.net, KoçSistem and business partners who provide a 24-hour service and support.
